Sen Bettencourt Says County Clerk Hollin’s Mailing 376K BBM Applications Waste of Money
Will file bill to save taxpayers money in reaction to County clerk announcement today
- Newly sworn in Harris County Clerk Chris Hollin’s mailing to every registered voter over the age of 65 in Harris County in super low turnout primary runoff elections is a complete waste of hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars.
- To Senator Bettencourt’s knowledge no other county has done this before. Does a big county, aka Harris County, doing this while small counties do not potentially effect election results?
- In a low turnout political party primary runoff election, the Democratic and Republican parties should be doing this themselves rather than the government. I will file a bill to stop this governmental waste.
- The moral of the story is just because government can do something doesn’t mean elected officials shouldn’t have the common sense not to do it!
