AUSTIN — Today, Senator Brandon Creighton (R-Conroe) made the following statement in regard to 9th State District Court Judge Kelly Case's dismissal of an online solicitation of a minor charge:
"This latest court ruling is yet another in a long line of recent rulings that have left most Texans asking 'How could this happen?' I am dismayed by the 9th State District Court's decision to dismiss a case regarding the online solicitation of a minor. An adult's intent to engage in sexual conduct with a minor is a criminal activity stretching far beyond freedom of speech and should not be protected by the First Amendment. I have the utmost confidence our Montgomery County prosecutors and our appeals system will work to overturn this decision so justice may be served."
