Austin – On Friday, May 20th, Senator Robert Nichols spoke on a panel at the Land, Water & Wealth: Legal Symposium for East Texas Agriculture presented by the Texas A&M Agrilife Extension.
"These types of forums are very helpful for landowners and extension agents to ensure they understand the latest state and federal rules when conducting their business or making plans for their land," said Senator Nichols. "Through the programs and services offered by the extension offices help to provide necessary services and education to the people of East Texas."
Topics discussed at the symposium included water law, eminent domain, estate planning, negotiating agriculture leases and private property rights which affect East Texans. Agriculture Extension Agents from Angelina, Houston, Trinity, Shelby, Cherokee, Tyler and Polk Counties were present.
