AUSTIN, Texas — This Tuesday, November 27th, Senator Robert Nichols will co-host the Office of the Public Utility Counsel's (OPUC's) Annual Meeting and Electricity Town Hall in Lufkin, Texas.
OPUC is the state agency that represents consumer interests for homeowner, renter and small business utility ratepayers in electric and telephone proceedings before appropriate regulatory entities. OPUC's professional representation helps to ensure just and reasonable utility rates and meaningful customer safeguards. OPUC also provides information and assistance to utility customers statewide to help reduce energy bills and usage and locate bill payment assistance when needed.
Senator Nichols is bringing OPUC's Public Counsel & staff to Lufkin to discuss:
- Shopping for retail electric providers in the Texas competitive electric market & how to reduce your costs
- Energy efficiency & ways to reduce electricity use
- Local payment assistance programs available in Angelina County
Please bring your electric bill with you & staff will review for important information that may affect your per month cost.
