El Paso, Texas – Today, Senator César J. Blanco hosted his 6th Annual Women Veterans' Day Luncheon to recognize and celebrate the courage, leadership, and sacrifice of women veterans who have served our nation, the State of Texas, and the El Paso community.
Joined by community partners, veterans, and local leaders, Senator Blanco honored 3 local women veterans for their outstanding service and lasting impact.

During the 85th Legislative Session, Senator Blanco was proud to support Senate Bill 805, establishing June 12 as Texas Women Veterans Day and ensuring the service and sacrifice of women veterans are formally recognized each year across the state.
Senator Blanco issued the following statement:
“Women veterans have helped shape the history of our nation, and their service deserves to be recognized and celebrated. Our 6th Annual Texas Women Veterans Day Luncheon is an opportunity to honor the incredible women who have served our country and continue to strengthen our communities through their leadership, resilience, and commitment to service.
For generations, women have long answered the call to serve, often breaking barriers and opening doors for those who would follow. Their contributions have strengthened our military, advanced our nation, and made a lasting impact on communities across Texas, including here in El Paso. To all women veterans: thank you for your courage, sacrifice, and service to our country and community.”
