AUSTIN, TEXAS – Dean Senator Judith Zaffirini’s annual newsletter, Senator Judith Zaffirini Reports to the Families of District 21, this week was mailed to 237,080 households.

This year’s edition focuses on proverbial “kitchen table” issues important to her approximately one million constituents, including public education; housing; healthcare affordability; and the accessibility, affordability, sustainability and reliability of the electric grid.

“My vision for this newsletter was to bring constituents together regarding issues that truly matter,” Senator Zaffirini said. “These are the issues that may not get as much coverage via cable news, talk radio or at the office water cooler, but which impact us all, Democrat or Republican.”

The report also reviews the interim charges for Senator Zaffirini’s standing committees to which Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick appointed her, namely, the Senate Committees on Finance; State Affairs; Business and Commerce; and Natural Resources and Economic Development, for which she has served as Vice Chair since 2017.

“My annual newsletter always is an invitation for constituents to participate in the state governmental process and to be informed about our priority issues,” she added. “This is important as we prepare for the 2025 legislative session that convenes on Jan. 14.”
