(AUSTIN) — Senator Judith Zaffirini, D-Laredo, today (Wednesday) invited constituents to attend hearings of the Senate Select Committee on Redistricting in Austin, Corpus Christi and Houston. She encouraged residents of Senate District 21 to provide feedback regarding the redistricting maps for the state's Congressional, State Senate and House of Representatives districts.
The scheduled public meetings are as follows:

Senator Zaffirini invited constituents who cannot attend the hearings to submit written testimony to her via email at Judith.zaffirini@senate.state.tx.us or via fax at 512/475-3738. Testimony received by June 12, will be entered into the record.
"Redistricting affects everything from political representation to the level of federal funding for important projects," Senator Zaffirini said. "As the ranking member of the Senate Redistricting committee, my priorities are to ensure that our South Texas communities of interest are kept together, that the Voting Rights Act is respected and that every person has an effective voice in government."
