AUSTIN — Today, Lt. Governor David Dewhurst appointed Senator Jane Nelson to serve as Chair of the Senate Finance Committee. Senator Hinojosa released the following statement:

"I congratulate Senator Jane Nelson's historic appointment as the first woman to chair the Senate Finance Committee. She has a solid knowledge of the budget process and possesses the skills, tenacity and strong leadership to lead the Senate Finance Committee. I look forward to working alongside Senator Nelson in both the Finance Committee and the Legislative Budget Board."
