(Austin, TX) — This week, the Future Farmers of America made their way to the capitol to meet with their respective Senators and Representatives. Senator Juan "Chuy" Hinojosa had the pleasure of meeting with the FFA students from Orange Grove and released the following statement.
"It is good to have the youth at the capitol where they can they can see their elected officials in action and get a better understanding of the political process. I am very proud of the work they do, and happy to see hear them speak of their political interests and concerns with such enthusiasm.
"They are starting their political participation early on and I was able to learn just how worried the Future Farmers of America are about the cuts proposed for education and several other important state services.
"I wanted them to know that I will work hard, together with my colleagues, to find solutions to our fiscal challenges. My office is always open and I hope to see more young people here at the capitol, learning about their government and getting involved.
