The day was observed with a series of events, including Senate Resolution 264, a Legislative Reception, and discussions of the legislative priorities. of the City of Mission. Senator Juan "Chuy" Hinojosa released the following statement.

"It was an honor for me to introduce the city of Mission to the Senate, and an honor to welcome this city's impressive delegation. Not only did I grow up in Mission, I was also educated in their excellent school systems. I'm proud to have the city of Mission in my district, and for the opportunity to serve my constituents there. "Through the years, Mission has grown into a thriving city. In fact, it's one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the country. Our meeting was very productive, and I'm glad I was able to learn more about their legislative priorities.

"We are facing some economic difficulties this legislative session, but it's important that we find ways to keep expanding the city of Mission. Funding for education, tourism and transportation is vital, and I will work hard alongside my colleagues to find solutions to our funding challenges.
