AUSTIN -- State Senator Juan "Chuy" Hinojosa congratulated Dr. Robert Furgason on his move to the Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies, and said Furgason will bring his same impressive work ethic to the institute as he did to Texas A&M University -- Corpus Christi.
"Dr. Furgason was at the Capitol nearly every day during the legislative session advocating for Texas A&M," Senator Hinojosa said. "I have always found Dr. Furgason incredibly easy to work with and a great resource of knowledge. Now he will bring that same impressive work ethic to the Harte Research Institute."
Senator Hinojosa said Dr. Furgason was an ideal university president and will be greatly missed at the helm of the university. "The coastal bend region owes a debt of gratitude for his contributions," Senator Hinojosa said.
"I know the momentum that Dr. Furgason built at Texas A&M will continue, and I will look forward to working on issues important to the university and the coastal bend in the next legislative session."
