The Texas Association of Counties has named Sen. Juan Hinojosa a Friend of County Government for his work during the 82nd Legislative Session.
Since Hinojosa was elected to the Senate, he has actively sought advice and counsel from the county officials in his district. TAC greatly appreciates the work he and his staff put into reviewing legislation for county impact.
"The decision to honor Sen. Hinojosa was an easy one because of his leadership in Senate Finance and on the Senate floor on issues important to local governments," said TAC Legislative Director Paul Sugg. "His efforts to preserve decision-making authority at the county level also are greatly appreciated."
Senator Hinojosa commented on the recognition from the Texas Association of Counties.
"County government is a vital part of our governmental structure. It responds to the needs of our residents who live in and outside municipalities, and it plays an integral role in helping us provide better constituent services." Senator Hinojosa said.
TAC is a statewide non-profit organization that represents counties at the Capitol, conducts required continuing education for officials and provides other needed services for county government.
