AUSTIN -- Texas State Senator Jane Nelson, R-Lewisville, has been named a "Fighter for Free Enterprise" by the Texas Association of Business. The association, which tracked the votes of legislators on several issues important to Texas businesses, described Senator Nelson's record as "stellar."
"We always believed that there were many politicians talking the pro-business talk, but not walking the walk when it came to vote," said Bill Hammond, the group's president. "The Texas Association of Business has named you a "Fighter for Free Enterprise" as a result of your stellar pro-business, pro-Texas voting record. Thank you for all your hard work."
Senator Nelson, who runs an aircraft component manufacturing business with her husband, Mike, said she understands firsthand the challenges businesses face in today's environment.
"I am acutely sensitive to the tax and regulatory burdens that are placed on businesses today -- not to mention the struggle to provide employees quality health care as costs keep escalating," Senator Nelson said. "I am very grateful to be recognized as an advocate for business in Texas."
