The Texas State Senate News
AUSTIN - It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the State Capitol. The Texas Senate has been decking the halls and spreading cheer with several holiday activities during the first week of December.
The Senate Chamber has been filled with beautiful hybrid poinsettias donated by Ellison's Nursery in Brenham, Texas. The plants were delivered early in the week and placed on each Senator's desk.
Arriving at the State Capitol in great style was the Senate Christmas tree. Jan Bullock, wife of Lieutenant Governor Bob Bullock, greeted the horse-drawn carriage that carried the gorgeous tree to the Capitol steps. Jan Bullock and friends trimmed the tree that was placed in the Lieutenant Governor's Reception Room.
Both the tree and the poinsettias along with other decorations will be on display throughout the holidays.
