Secretary of State formally asks Harris County Clerk’s Office For Correct File of Early Voters
Senator Bettencourt had asked Monday if 1,090,445? 1,081,265? 1,092,521? was correct
Numbers generated by Clerk’s office show three different vote totals in Harris County through October 25

Updated: Houston, TX – After a full day of no response to Senator Bettencourt requests, the Secretary of State formally weighed in and asked Harris County for a correct file of voters Monday evening. This was because Clerk Hollins (D-Harris County) currently lists three different vote totals on three different lists that his office generates. “Which of these counts is correct?” asked Senator Bettencourt.

Chart 1

The Daily Record of Early Voting spreadsheet shows 1,090,445 votes cast, while the number reported by the Clerk to the Texas Secretary of State’s office is 1,081,265, and the Harris County voter roster shows 1,092,521.

“Why wasn’t a simple answer to the question which number was correct not immediately given by Harris County Clerk Hollins!” said Senator Bettencourt. “Why is it going to take a formal request by the SOS to get an answer to the public on how many voters have actually voted in Harris County? I hope Hollins answers today!!” concluded Senator Bettencourt.
