AUSTIN, TX -- Senator Lucio, a longtime advocate of health and nutrition for Texans, wants to bring greater awareness to the need for improved nutrition and physical activity to his South Texas Senatorial District by hosting the first ever Historic Brownsville Resacathon, 2006.
The goal of the Resacathon is to engage community members in a fun, family friendly, event that will unite individuals from the health care, non-profit, educational, and business communities to help educate the general public about the importance of proper nutrition and fitness. The Resacathon will also provide participants with tools and ideas they can incorporate into their daily lives to help improve their mental and physical health.
Senator Lucio is also extending a special invitation to members of the press to request that the South Texas media outlets participate in disseminating information to the public regarding these critical issues.
More information is forthcoming, and for questions, please call Ms. Kate Volti, Policy Analyst, who handles health and nutrition issues for Senator Lucio, at 512-463-0127.
