AUSTIN, TX--Today the full Senate confirmed the appointment of Mr. Howard T. Pebley to serve on the One Call Board. During the interim, state Sen. Eddie Lucio, Jr., D-Brownsville, affirmed him and on Tuesday, April 17, the Senate Nominations Committee gave him their approval.
"It is great to know that this dedicated and knowledgeable individual from my district is serving on the One-Call Board of Texas, a non-profit organization created to administer the Texas call before you dig' program, which is intended to prevent damage to underground facilities and to protect people who excavate from receiving injuries," said Sen. Lucio.
Mr. Pebley is president of McAllen Construction Company. The McAllen native is a member of the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and has long participated in community activities that include serving several terms on the McAllen Boys and Girls Club, McAllen Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, several City of McAllen advisory boards and the McAllen Economic Development Advisory Board.
The Texas Tech graduate holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He has also served on the Advisory Board of Texas Commerce Bank and on the Board of Trustees of Sharyland Independent School District.
"This Board has oversight of the State One-Call legislation, which greatly affects the construction industry of Texas," said Mr. Pebley. "I believe it is important for the construction industry to be represented on this Board."
His term expires August 31, 2003.
