Today, the U.S. Supreme Court upheld the nationwide health insurance subsidies that are crucial to the implementation of the Affordable Care Act that gives millions of Americans subsidies to secure more affordable health insurance for their families.

This is a big win for our working class families who will continue to have access to affordable healthcare. Almost one million Texas residents are currently receiving federal subsidies, saving them millions of dollars -- dollars they most likely don't have.

Texas has the highest uninsured rate in the nation and it is even higher in our South Texas communities. We must put politics aside and focus on improving healthcare and access for all Texans.
