(Austin, TX) — Last week, Chairman Ogden named the members of the Finance Subcommittee on Public Safety. The Committee is in charge of Article V, which oversees the budget for public safety and border security, and is compromised of 7 Senators. The members include Senator Whitmire (lead), Senator Hinojosa, Senator Estes, Senator Lucio, Senator Nelson, Senator Seliger and Senator Shapiro.

"We only have two months left this legislative session and the time has come to move forward." Senator Juan "Chuy" Hinojosa said. "The decisions of this subcommittee will help address issues with respect to public safety and border security - two of our top priorities this session. By this time on Wednesday, the full Senate Committee on Finance should be able to mark-up Article V."
