AUSTIN -- State Senator Juan "Chuy" Hinojosa is pleased to announce the appointment of Kathy Reavis to the Rio Grande Regional Water Authority.

"Kathy is a hard worker and very sharp," Senator Juan Hinojosa said. "I know she will be a great asset to the water authority, and I am very pleased that she has been appointed."

The Rio Grande Regional Water Authority, SB 1902, was co-authored by Senator Hinojosa and authored by Senator Eddie Lucio, D- Brownsville, in the 78th legislative session.

The legislation creates a regional water authority for Hidalgo, Cameron, Starr, Willacy, Webb and Zapata counties. The authority functions as a conservation and reclamation district.

Kathy Reavis is a resident of Mission. She has a business degree from the University of Texas- Pan American and is the manager of RKR Finance Company.
