AUSTIN, TX – Texas State Senator Jane Nelson, R-Flower Mound, has logged a perfect 100-percent voting record in support of small business for the third consecutive legislative session by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB).
“Small businesses are the lifeblood of the Texas economy, and we need to promote a business climate that is hospitable to help our entrepreneurs continue to grow and prosper," said Senator Nelson. "I am honored to be recognized for standing with Texas' small businesses."
NFIB Texas Executive Director, Will Newton commended Senator Nelson saying, "Throughout her years of service in the Texas Senate, Senator Nelson has done an indescribable amount of good for the small business community. One of her biggest achievements in the eyes of small business owners was her leadership in passing the largest franchise tax relief in the state's history this session. On top of that, she aligned herself with small business on key votes throughout the session. NFIB has recognized Senator Nelson throughout the years with the organization's highest honor, The Guardian of Small Business award, and continue to applaud her work for the many hard-working, small business owners in this great state."
Prior to each session, NFIB small business owning members are polled on issues affecting their business, employees, and the state's economy. Based on those surveys, NFIB compiles its voting scorecard. For the complete list legislative scorecards, visit www.NFIB.com/Texas.
