AUSTIN - In soon-to-be-filed legislation, State Senator Jane Nelson, R-Flower Mound, is taking aim at utility providers who continue to use misleading and deceptive marketing practices despite legislation passed last session designed to stop them.
Nelson will discuss her bill, the Telecommunications and Electric Services Customer Protection Act of 1999, at a news conference at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 8, 1998, in the Senate Press Conference Room (2E.9).
Nelson will be joined by Senator David Sibley, Chair of the Senate Interim Committee on electric Utility Restructuring, Pat Wood, Chair of the Texas Public Utilities Commission and PUC Commissioner Judy Walsh.
