West Dallas also had at least four oil refineries that operated at various times from the early to mid-20th century.
Oriental Oil Co. Refinery No. 1 was sited on the west side of Westmoreland Rd. adjacent to the T&P trunk line. Simms Oil Co. Refinery operated at 2407-35 Eagle Ford Road. Texas Eagle Oil Refining Co. was located 2.5 miles west of Westmoreland on Eagle Ford Rd. and the Texas Co. also operated a refinery at 4000 Singleton.
