The precursor to RSR/Murmur, Southern Lead Co. began op- rations at the intersection of Westmoreland and Eagle Ford Rds. in the early 1930s. It was operated by Eagle-Picher Co. of Texas in the following two decades, then operated once more by Southern Lead in the 1960s. Both Southern Lead and Murph Metals, Inc. operat- ed in tandem at 2823 and 2833 N. Westmoreland during the late 1960s prior to being acquir- ed by RSR/Murmur in 1971.
